Question somebody talk me into a lightning

Ok. I'm a noob. This my first post. I have spent most my life obsessed with Mustangs. Currently I have a 94 White Saleen look-alike. It turns heads, but I've been craving a truck to pull toys with. I'll be towing a sandrail or 19' fiberglass boat.
I have a couple questions:
1) Does anybody use their L for a daily driver?
2) What's most a stock L can pull?
3) What's the best year to get? (i'm buying used)
4) Anything else I should look for when buying one.
5) Can I get one used for less than 18K?

anybody around Portland area that has one?????

Here's a couple of pics of my stang, if you're interested. Hey, somebody wanna part trade?

Drive one, you will be sold. They are capable of towing 5000lbs. Mine rine 12's and it's my daily driver, 29k and counting. Getting one une for under $18k is not likely. Maybe one with a recontructed title or very high miles. Check my gallery for some photos.

I have yet to drive one, or even ride in one. Hey silverbolt, do you go to Woodburn to drag?
If so, I think I've seen you take a vette last summer.

Other than interior, what makes the Lightning so different than a F-150 with a s/c?

Can you get a 5.4 in a regular 1/2 ton F-150 2WD?

The suspension is SVT. The seats are Lightning-specific. Mine is a daily driver.

Finding one for under 18k is not easy. Maybe a 99 with pretty high miles (at least for these trucks)....

suspension, the body kit, the f250 brakes, the front end, uhhhhhh, rims and tires, the seats, thers alot more that im not thinking about. Simply put, you cant just slap a s/c into a regular cab stepside 2wd and make it a lightning.

Add 9.75 rear end, worked heavy duty transmission, lots of internal engine differences, price tag, etc.

at 18K be weary, 19k a great deal, 20-21k for a 99 is about right.

I would rather talk you out of it then smoke your doors off, especially if you had a knock off! Their is no substitutuion for the real thing.

????

What type of gas mileage, city/highway do you guys get?
I get 16/23 in my 5.0 with 3.73's and 18's.

Is insurance dirt cheap, or just as much as a mustang?

Should I find a stock one, or one with perf goodies?

What power does new exhast, chips and intake get you?
Would I run 12s in the 1/4 with just thlose 3 things?

THX
