JE, I don't know if this helps you, but PI does have a 2 year warrenty on thier units. If yours is less than 2 years old, I'd suggest calling Jack at PI, and see if you can send it in to be taken care of for you. Of course the removal and install labor is on your own dime, but at least PI will take care of thier product. Tell Jack I told you to call. Hope this helps.

goddamn so thats what that noise is coming from my tranny lately!

You know I just started noticing that a little by little. The floor would start to shake and I thought for a second it was the exhaust but then all the sudden it was gone. Mines' only last a couple seconds each time but now that I know that will PI fix this if I send it back? I do have one of my free re stalls left?

what do you think, should I even worry about it if its barely noticeable? that really pisses me off cause for $1,000 bucks that thing should be perfect!

After talking to the PI people I was informed there is no fix. That's the way they are. It's the 3 disc that rattle. Just wish I knew this before I bought the dang thing.

JE, We @ JLP Have sold PI converters for 3 yrs now and will continue to do so. because this is the only converter we found to hold up under extreme hp levels..I have found the looser the converter the louder the rattel the tighter the quieter i would send it back to have them (Tighten) it up and i'm sure it will quiet it down alot..Hope this helps....JL

Well, I'm not really familier with it myuself, I've heard of it a lot, but the PI units I've seen haven't had the problem. I think it may be that they use a smooth side cover plate but again I don't know. The factory converter is a 3 plate unit, but the cover plate is splined and I think that this keeps it from rattling. I'll ask a few people who know converters pretty well and see if they have any thoughts.

I just posted this on NLOC. The hotter the tranny gets the louder the rattle....at least its that way in my case.

Put a big trans cooler on it.....a real cooler, not one of those silly tube and fin deals. The cooler quieted mine down a bunch.

Mine makes no noise when it is cold but the hotter it gets the louder it gets.

I run the larger of the two...the 13 1/2"X 9". The next step up from that would be something like what Earls sells.
