If you welded the mufflers together and you still have the rattle, That leads me to think that maybe its in the cats. I love my Bassani, but I can tell you this..............I have seen the jigs at JDM for the silver bullet cat back. They are a well made system, and I wouldn't think twice about purchasing one. I think the Bassani has a better "sound", but if something happens to my cat back, I'll buy the Silver bullet with out a second thought.

Iam telling you this from being in the shop and seeing what goes on

Good Luck in your decision

Hey, you might also want to look at ATR... I had one of their systems on my '94 Stealth R/T... That was about the loudest thing I've ever heard. My car literally sounded like the Mach 5.

Otherwise, they also make a downpipe, which replaces the cats with a straight pipe. I've yet to hear the exhaust on a Lightning, but I can guarantee it's the loudest thing this side of straight pipes.

Just a thought.

If you read my post you could hear what it sounds like...
I have JDM long tubes, high flow cat mid pipes(which have been gutted-why? because like this morning when I had to get my truck emmisions tested they look under the truck for cats.BTW I passed with no problems and I don't have egr, pcv system, or rear O2 sensors...) and the dual oval magnaflows with X pipe.

Link to video with my exhaust.

download this divx codec to view, you shouldn't need it just to hear.

Here you go Joe. Just so you can see what it looks like. I guess Brandon is going to take this one though.

That rattle could be the cats, instead of the muffler. That's what it was for me... Haven't heard too many mufflers coming apart inside. On the other hand, I've heard a bunch of cats that rattle over time...

RT i think its a good chance that the rattle is the cats. I know my exhaust rattled when i got it. I had a dealer look at it and it turned out to be the cats. They replaced them with the new ones which they claim to be better and have a little more flow to them. Wheter or not its true or not i have no idea but it fixed the rattle. You might check into it.

Hey 'killa-

Are your aft-pipes (after the mufflers) with the Bassani tips attached are in good condition? I've actually been looking for just that piece.

my thread here

Let me know if that's something you're interested in selling. Thanks!

exhaust

my father has the full jdm system with the larger oval mufflers, I have just the bullet with the 2 round mufflers. My truck is by far louder than his system around town, but his has a better tone throughout the rpm range. I like the full system with the larger mufflers better.
