Electric Fan Install Help

Ok, i'm installing the JDM Fan kit and have everything done but the damn drain plug on the bottom.

I can't for the life of me get the 5/16 allen bolt in there to break loose. I tried with an allen wrench at first, no way that was working. Now I have the 5/16 socket and still can't move it, i'm afraid I will strip the bolt.

Any ideas.

i had to use the hex socket to get the plug out a couple of days ago when i did mine...

get a long extension & get yourself some leverage.. maybe gome penetrating oil will help...

oh, and watch out for the GALLON of %!#%^!$# antifreeze that will come out after you...

Ahhh, well after trying for an hour and half to get that drain plug off to put the sensor in, I finally screwed it up enough to where it was trashed.

So after drilling a hole thru the bolt , I got the "easy off" tool in the hole. And after another hour or so screwing with that it still won't break loose, in fact I already broke one "easy off" tool trying. "Easy off" my azz.

I have run out of ideas and energy. Probably have to take it to a shop and have someone remove that damn thing. Any one else have this much trouble. Mine is a 99 so that plug has had lots of time to cement itself in place.

hmm

if you are using the correct allen head socket.....and make sure it's not worn.....there should be any trouble. You could always shot a little heat at it
