thats exactly what I was wondering....
Now what are the advantages of the Longblock?
thanks, shane

only advantage is the heads are allready on. Not hard to put on heads, but if your not experienced, rebuilding and installing a motor is very tough.

The stock longblock is exactly that. A STOCK engine, exactly the same as the way it came from ford, STOCK.

A built shortblock has stronger internals to handle higher boost and power levels.

So...............is it possible then, to get a "BUILT" long block?? In other words, the built short block, plus ported/balanced heads, head studs, etc...........hence creating a "BUILT" long block?

Is my theory correct here............or way off??

The longblock that you are referring to in your first post is an OE longblock (original crate motor). We do offer performance longblocks in multiple configurations IE: stock or oversize stainless valves, multiple cam profiles, various degrees of porting etc..We also offer the shortblocks or head packages seperate.
