Question Brake Pad suggestions?

My brakes started squeeling after making 15 runs at 75-80 2 weeks ago in 2 hours. The place was empty (20 cars total). I have 20k on my 01 and figure that it may be a good time to change pads. Does anyone have an opinion or what pad to try. I wouldn't mind better braking feel for the street while I am at it.

Napa Ceramix. Low dust and no squeeling either.

I've run many different pads.

Porterfields Carbon/Kevlar - These were a very nice pad as a stock replacement. I wanted a little more powerful braking.

Performance Friction Carbon Metallic Z rated pads - Junk; dusted like crazy and wore completely out in 6000 miles.

Hawk HPS pads - I'll buy them again!

mine have started to squeel at low speeds as well...never thought about how hard it is on them to stop after a 1/4 run. How much are the napa pads? part #?...as long as they dont squeel and dont have bad dust thats all I really care about

Cost will vary from NAPA store to NAPA store. Ask for their best price as they can run from $95 to $75 for the fronts--$75 to $55 for the rears, if I remember correctly.

thanks for looking that up, that seems kinda pricey to me for some reason...then again I have never had to change my pads myself, or had a vehicle that I cared what kind were used. How much are those hawk pads people keep mentioning?

Auto Zone had a set of Ceramic Bendix Pads. Does anyone have any experience with them?

There seems to be a real disconnect in this thread between performance and convenience.

Want great pads for hardcore use? Get the Hawks or similar. Yeah, they will dust. That just means that they are working. My Brembos will completely coat my wheels in a day or two.

Want low-dust, quiet, but low-performance pads? Get the ceramics. I wouldn't put them on my truck, though. Ultimate performance is far more important to me than dust issues.
