Blacked out headlights and tail lights.
I put a set of gts blackouts on my fog lights today and the look good. Now I was wondering if i could get a set of blacked out head light covers and tail lights covers. I was about to buy them off the internet when it said "Check with local laws to see if they are legal. Does light not come thru the head light and tail light covers. Any advice would be helpful. Last thing I want to do is give the police a reason to pull me over.
i've been driving my 99 like this for 4yrs now. has rear blackout too. the light shines thru the rears ok, but you have to take the headlight covers off at night. people can see you, but it doesn't give you enough light to drive on unlit streets
the fog light covers are kind of a sloppy fit. since i leave mine on, i put a thin bead of clear silicon on them and stuck them on. i took them off to clean them and the silicon easily came off the paint and the covers
I had GTS headlight covers on my truck. took them off most of the time, but put them on for shows or just when i felt like having them on. got a 50 dollar ticket one day for having them on though, even though it was broad friggin daylight
You should check your local laws before installing these. It would really suck if you put on the rear blackouts and someone was to slam into the rear of you and then sue the hell out of you and it wasn't even your fault. You know they would say it was because they couldn't see your brake lights. Just something to consider. They do look cool though!
