exhaust help

I have a borla exhaust that came on my truck. I'm trying to take it off to see if i like the sound of running no muffler. The borla is to quiet and i may have a mufferless exhaust system made for me if i like it. I un-did the clamps that held the exhaust on. I guess it just slides over the stock system but i can get it off. How do i remove it. Thanks for the help

I think any decent shop will be able to remove it easily. Wouldn't be more than 15 bucks to remove.

You'll love the straight pipes!

I'd prefer to do it myself. I'm hopeing i do like the straight pipes. I used to run my supra with an open downpipe. and it was mean as hell sounding.

you're going to lose all your torque, that isn't a totally true statment, but you need some backpressure

Those damn cats create enough back pressure as it is. You dont need as much back pressure as you think. Even if i do lose a little torque that is fine by me. Now to get those pipe off

Depends on if your exhaust is stock or not. When I pulled my Mac catback off it had only been on there for two months maybe. I used a 2X4 and a 3 lb mallet to coax her off. Only took a few good swings.

Ok, sounds good to me. Just put the piece of wood on the muffler part and hit it to sperate the part of the exhaust where they slide together?

The exhaust clamps are stuck together. Just take a hammer where you pulled the two nuts off of and give them some smacks. They should separate after that.

I'm sorry if that didnt make sense. The two clamps are off. The pipeing of the borla exhaust where it slides over the stock exhaust wont seperate. I hope that makes more sense? Would it be better to do this while its cold or when the exhaust is hot.

If the clamps have made indentations in the pipes, they may be locked together. If this is so, you're gonna need to heat them up.
