Lower Pulley Install Question
Lower Pulley Install Question
Just installed a cageless 4lb lower pulley, struggled with the 67" belt for a while till I broke that casting piece of the tensioner. I now notice that with the A/C on and the truck at idle, theyre appears to be more "noise or a low murmur" when your inside the truck, and that it disappears once you accelerate. Ive checked the pulley and it appears to spin straight and not wobble. Could I have damaged one of the idler pulleys in the middle by torqueing them down too tight? Or is this due to the fact that its a cageless and there's nothing to dampen the sound of the supercharger and pulleys? I know that there's suppose to be more noise when you get on it, but is this murmur at idle normal also? Thanks in advance.
Mine sounds like a Desiel on Idle
For some it's the marble in the Can sound
I think they call it cavatating ???
If you touch the gas a little and bring up the RPM's,
it goes away RIGHT ?
It's normal for most with aftermarket pulleys
Nothing to worry about
ENJOY THE NEW POWER

Dirtchicken,
No, I didnt get to either, I had an errand to run at 9:00, and I didnt read the email from DJY, till last nite. Kinda wished we could've gone though, just to see a "Hawaii Lightning" family reunion
