Since it is used I would run a car fax on it and try to find out who the first owner was. Could've been a 80 year old man or, it could have been some young a$$hole like me.

i went to the dealer today and the guy ran a car fax type thing on the lightning, but it had no useful info on who the owner was or why they traded it.

my lightning was bought used and some people think it has been raced with the motor blown up with only 4,000 miles on it. but i'm happy with my truck cause the dyno#'s speak for themselves. i'm glad they got rid of it. wiring harness tapped into my computer, motor been out, transmission messed up (that isn't the shape i bought it in, great truck). you name it. but thats just speculation from clues left behind. talk to the owner. ask the dealership for his number. i they say no. take your business else where. make them work for your hard earned dollar. more chances that the owner will be honest, cause hell, aint his truck no more.

ps. car fax came back clean cause they might have done the work themselves.

In KY, state law requires them to provide you with the previous owner's telephone # upon request.
