Window tint question

Tuesday I am having my 03' L windows tinted. My tint guy says that even a very light film over the rear window will be tough at night. My old S-10 Blazer had factory tint (very dark, almost limo tint) and I dont remember it being that dark. Anyway, has anyone tinted their rear window?

I have 32% on my truck and it is not too bad, but I have 15% on my car and it is a pain to see out of at night to back up.

Got limo all around...BAD idea on the back window...I FREQUENTLY have to slide open the middle window to back up at night or around dusk on sunny days..but the back window is no big deal, even so...if your rear is tinted from factory like mine was, just throw 20% on there, 5% has me shovin my head outta there like a mole everytime I thow it in revers....then again..ya cant see in that window even with a mag-lite..

See pic below...the window is open in middle..look to the left side of the window..you really cant even see out in dayligh...

I just matched my windows to the rear and it works well. Picture in my signature.

I have 20% on my windows...Wish I would have gone darker, probably will with the next repaint..

Funny thing is: I don't have a sliding rear window(Gen 1), and I have a giant reflective Lightning decal. I got stopped one night, and they didn't gripe about the tint, but they said the decal has to go since you can't see through it. Well, it's not an openable window, so who cares if you can't see through it. Do they b!tch out semi's because they can't see the rear window because of that big 53' long trailer behind them?!?!

Cops...sheesh..

i have 05% limo on the rear, and always have to open the slider at night to back out of my driveway, but i don't mind it looks awsome. i'm thinking about tinting my whole windshield. not limo of course, but i had a mustang that i tinted the winshield on with a legal tint, and that looked awsome to.

Thanks guys for all the input. I think I will stay away from the back widow altogether. I am sure that when I tone the side windows down, I will be happy.

I did 20% on the sides and it matches the back window. I've had 5% before on different cars and I didn't like it. As everyone's said, it is tough to see out of at night. You almost get annoyed that you can't see. 20% is no problem though.

35% is not bad at all on the windows.... Limo as I have now is a problem... Very tough to get use to, roll down the windows to see when you need too...

I've got limos all the way around and have mixed feelings about them. TINNMAN was right- you really can't see in even with a mag-lite. However, it is incredibly difficult to see out of them at night. Headlights show through just fine, but trying to back up with the rear window closed in basically impossible.
