Is it safe to...

...run a ken belle blower on a stock block?

is it necessary to have a built bottom end?

if it is ok, how safe is it?

what all parts are needed, if any?

what is the best set-up (pulley-wise) for running a ken belle?

thanx for the answers...chris

Just keep it in 10-12lbs of boost and you should be fine no problem.

[edit] Err, just noticed you had a chip...if you're running advanced timing and leaner for more power, you might want to get that juggled a bit safer too before strapping it on. [/edit]

im running about 12 lbs of boost now. how much added power would it be to have the belle in place of the eaton?

and, (no flame intended) what the hell does "juggled" mean?

juggled, caressed, tuned again...

no clue what your actually output increase would be... I keep hearing that direct, equal boost swap, is somewhere around 30-50hp? I think?

I've seen them start as low as $3500ish for a short block minimum, to $12k for 4V longblocks.

You'd have to shop around, there are atleast 7 vendors now that do built blocks...also get an idea of what you'd like, how far you want to take it, and what your horsepower goals are.

the only problem with that is, as soon as i reach my goals, im going to want to go faster.

im sure you can under-dig that.

i just did the pulley and maf and a bunch of other ***** less than a month ago and im ready for the next step. i really wish i would have gone with the #6 instead of the #4. even then, i would be wishing for the #8.

There are a couple with KBs or Works on stock blocks putting out stock numbers without problems so far. I'm sure over time if you have the boost up you'll weaken the internals, but that holds true for more boost in general imo.

Just keep a level head with your boost levels, run a SAFELY tuned chip, dyno and double-check your tune, and you should be fine with the KB.

However, after slapping on the KB, I would seriously start to consider/save up for the built-block and the rest of the goodies.
