Bad luck with mods this time!
On my 99 every mod worked perfect the first time....boy not this time. The JDM/Kooks dual mufflers were to loud for my taste (my fault not theirs) had to change to single muffler (sounds perfect now). Since installing exhaust, SES light because of not enough airflow to EGR. Jim said to clear the PCM a few times and it would go away. Well I've cleared it five times and it's on again...this pisses me off
I had to pay a Muffler shop to install the new muffler because the distance between the inlets and outlets are different between the two muffler kit and the single muffler kit (Jim sent me a pipe for the inlet side but nothing to make the outlet side work). The muffler shop guy did a goog job but between sending JDM over $100.00 for the single muffler (I need to sell the dual mufflers...they have an X-pipe welded to them) and paying the muffler shop $90.00 this sucks! And now the SES light. The Metco interchangable pulley I installed was a very tight fit (had to pull it in with the bolts a little at a time and it was strait). The F/T valve body shifts as weak as stock at the 1-2 shift but is perfect at the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts (I would not want them any harder). This is without a chip. No way will it bark the tires at the 1-2 shift...just falls on its face even at W.O.T. Now Greg has said he will send me another but who wants to have to lower a pan again. Then the Ruslow Rotors I bought (they looked great) started rusting. I thought they would have been plated. So I had to remove them, sand them down and paint them high heat black. I could not find a silver or metal looking paint that looked good with my 99 chromies. Crap I'm tired of doing work over. Sorry I just needed to vent

Someone call the waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhmbulance.
Sorry Jerry I just saw this the other day and really wanted to post it. You just happened to be the lucky winner.
Really sucks to have to do things over. I feel for ya. Good Luck on your future mods!

hahahahahaha...
There's a lot to be said for staying stock -
I think I have posted this before again and again - The aftermarket Parts industry is nothing more than a - F U V K I N G - joke for all makes and models ... More useless non fitting non-sensesical parts that do nothing for you but drain funds from your wallet ...
Just another way to fleece Johnny lunch box the uninformed dim witted consumer ...
Hold on there, let me get my soap box O.K. then - care to buy some magical alixer it will add thirty years to your lifespan, prevent baldness and give you a raging woody upon demand ...?
Just send $19.95 to the following Post Office box ... hahahahahahahahahaha

BTW - Jerry - this is no slap to you Man - just making a humerous statement - believe me I've been burned many times myself...

After reading your posts a while back about the headers being loud, you and other people also, I was worried my LT & highflow cats would also be to loud. Well, got them on two days ago and except for a little louder at WOT they sound ok. Actually iam a little disappointed that they are not LOUDER.
You put all that on at the same time, you sure the SES is from the exhaust?
Ruslow's rotors are not plated unless you ask for it, he dosn't advertise them as that. They're OEM rotors slotted, unless you asked for something custom.
He can cryo, powder coat, etc.
Sorry you're having so much trouble...if its any help, even Ford made aftermarket parts degrade...the chrome is peeling off my FMS 2000 wheels.

Dan, the SES light did not come on until the exhaust was done. These mods were done weeks apart. The stock rotors never rusted on my 99 or the 03, but you are right Stan never said his were plated. The SES light and the valve body problems are the one's that **** me off the most! Someone said the SES light can be fixed through the chip.....well what the hell am I supposed to do when I have to go to the dealer for service?

Uncle, my 99 had the F/T valve body and when I took the chip out to trade it in it would bark at the 1-2 shift! You would have to drive it to understand. The 2-3 and 3-4 shifts are almost to hard at W.O.T. but the 1-2 is weak! Greg says to not turn off torque reduction, as it will tear up the box. If it shifted as hard at the 1-2 as it does at the 2-3 it would light um up.

I put the FTVB in my '02 and I don't have a chip, just a filter and Lakewood traction bars. The truck chirps the tires into 2nd every time under full throtle. I am totally pleased with the shifting at all times in every gear.
Jerry -- Just do a quick check of your O2 sensor plugs. I have the full headers/exhaust with no chip and get no SES codes. The one time I did, it was because the driverside O2 plug decided to uncouple itself.

My valve body on my L is exactly as you say Jerry, 1-2 weak as stock, 2-3 & 3-4 almost too firm, before and after my chip, torque reduction not turned off. This is my second valve body as my first one got gummed up and would not shift out of 2nd with out letting off gas and then slamming back on it, but before that problem it shifted evenly with the perfect firmness through all the gears. I wish I had that again, but like you I don't want the pain in the *** of dropping that f'n pan again.
Peace,
Bill
