HP to HP (NOS vs Boost)

What would you say a 4lber and a 6lber equal in hp. I want to run juice and want to know what size shot to run. I dont want to spray more than what a 6lber would give me.

I don't think you can really compare. I believe the 6lber makes the HP stretch better accross the curve than the 4lber does. If you want to be a champ, you should spray a 50shot on top of the 4lber! I plan to spray a 50 shot on top of a 6lber sometime in the near future... or I may drop to a 4lber to be safe!

Would a 100 shot be safe, or is that too much?

The 100hp shot would work with the 4# lower but you are right at the maximum of the factory rods. The 6# lower and a 100hp shot would = blown motor!!

Well i was wanting to run NOS instead of more boost. I know that a 75 shot would be ok but wasnt sure if 100 would be too much.

If I remember right, Sal posted a chart he made of safe amounts of shot's, with different amounts of boost, on different year trucks. Do a search... ill try and find it for you too.

I run 75shot on top of 5#er!!! I also run the N20 on the "street" tune which has 3 degrees more timing than the program built for the N20!!!

I would go with a 6#er and start w/50shot then move up as you feel comfortable!!!!!!!!

I'm going to try a 150 shot with 15psi boost next week. I'll let you know how it turns out.

great info guys. So i guess a 100 shot with no extra boost and a PSP tuned chip would be just fine.
