Lightning gas mileage
5W20 fully synthetic eng. oil--see sig for my preference. Redline Synthetic D4 ATF--keeps trans cooler but better shifts. 32 psi--COLD in all four tires. Windows rolled up--a/c control on 'off' or 'panel'--all other positions engage the compressor. Keep the 'boost' gauge in the 'vacuum' area as much as possible. Shift into 'nuetral' at long traffic lights. Do not let truck sit-at idle-- to warm up--start it, drive it-slowly- but move it for the next 3-4 miles, letting everything warm up at the same time. Make sure(check when fluid is 'warm', on a level. smooth surface--brake on--shift thru all gears, starting and stopping at 'park'--eng. idling, pull and clean dipstick--check level--should be in 'hatched' area) auto trans fluid level is at the proper level as a low level can cause trans slippage. Keep spark plugs fresh and at the widest gap setting where proper ignition will still occur. Keep air filter clean. Change the fuel filter every 6-8K(for safety[keep from going lean] and proper eng. operation. Check to see if brake pads are 'dragging'--too much. 'Plan' your stops as much as possible--rolling is better than 'idling'. Remove the hitch--less weight(I have my spare and jack removed too.)Drive in the right-hand lane on the interstates...................
And, if you're really **** retentive, cut the radio antenna off and fold the rear-view mirrors in

Thanks for all the good comments as well as the jokes. If you have any other ideas, let me know. Thanks to lightningrod for all the constructive ideas. I think I will keep the mirrors and antenna intact!
