This is way to loud. I need help again....how do I get this down to a level that is not rediculous (sp)? I have the dual full size mufflers (JDM/Magnaflow). I had a single Magnaflow two in two out on my 99 and it was perfect. I was going to get the single muffler but Justin talked me out of it. This is way to loud. Everytime I get on it the cops will know right where I am. I hope someone has an answer. I'll trade my dual magnaflows for someone's single. I am not a happy camper right now. It only took me 1.5 to install the complete kit but it took me 3.5 hours to get the old one off! I finally found my old chain cutter and cut the SOB in pieces. As I was pounding on the old muffler I let the hammer go and hit my F'ing knee. God I hate exhaust work. Almost as bad as I hate this loud MFer. I sure hope the single is a bunch quieter! I'm calling JDM first thing Monday morning for some help.

Way to Loud hehe. No such thing
. Good thing you dont have the Bassani with the LT's and high flow cats. Thats even louder then the JDM system. I would say go with the single muffler if you want it quieter.

Jerry, from our discussions on how noisey a panhard bar is I could have told you way ahead of time that that exhaust setup would be WAY to loud for it. (I have it, I love it).
The single magnaflow will quiet it down quite a bit, though it will still make some rumble on WOT. You'll have to look into finding a compatible non-high-flow cat if you want to quiet it more, but you're also defeating some of the performance purpose of the exhaust.
It'll be a trade off, you'll lose extra power to get it quieter again.

I don't mind noise, just rattles and stuff like that. This is ten times louder than the single Magnaflow I had on the 99. Because of the highflow cats I expected it to be louder but this is bull***** loud! I don't want it to sound like stock but I need it toned down by about 30 to 40 percent. Hell I guess I'm just getting old, when I had the 99 for sale I put the stock airfilter back on and even though I thought I liked to sound of the blower I like it better when you can really hear what's going on under the hood. I'm installing hoses to holes I cut in the bottom of the stock air box on the 03 and I'm just going to run it that way. Sal says untill you get over 12-13 lbs. of boost the stock flows plenty.

Jerry give the new system a few days
I was like you when I got my full system too.I hated it when I picked it up from NJ last year. I called them up and biatched at them. After about a week I started to like it a little more, and as a few weeks came along I was in love.
I can't imagine myself having anything else on my truck now.
So give it a few more days and let me know if you feel the same???

Anybody have a Borla on behind the high flow cats? That may help you out some. They have a very nice sound behind the stock system, just not very loud. I started out with Borla and the fit and quality can't be touched.
I've been considering going back to it myself. I've got the really loud one behind my LTs and high flows.... The Silver Bullet! Dual Magnapacks
I can't decide whether I love them or hate them.

Like Don said give it a week or 2. the sound will mellow and your impression of it will mellow as well. I Have the single muffler and I almost wish it still made the noise it made new. Not a lot more but a little...

Return the exhaust to the place that you bought it from.
the sale of goods is covered by the UCC (Universal Commercial Code)
I can't give legal advice, but if you look online like Google and brief through there, you might come across comething on acceptance, and the TIME PERIOD THAT YOU HAVE TO DETERMINE IF YOU WILL ACCEPT THE GOODS.
The UCC, is the law controling the sale of goods, and goods is defined as any tangible object (except food).
Your Exhaust constitutes a Good.
I "HEARD" of a case where a person bought a car (paid cash) drove it a week, and returned to the dealer becuase he did like it. After a lot of puffing, and a court hearing, the dealership was ordered to refund 100% of the price of the car and all legal fees.
perhaps that is why some smart delaerships allow you to take the car for a few days before you buy it.
