I have been wondering how loud is a lightning with stock cats
and no muffs just straight pipes? Is it long trip tollerable, more or less, on the in cab resonance is there alot?

It's pretty loud and not for the faint hearted. I run the exact setup you're talking about with 2.5 inch stainless steel piping, no mufflers, stock cats, etc.
It is LOUD and there is a drone on the highway. I don't mind it much but if you take long trips a lot I wouldn't recommend it.
It does get attention around town though

Thats what I needed to know.
In the past I put a borla single pipe aftercat system on our expidition, It was almost the same as the stock system.
Very disapointing. I am sure the lightining will be much better.

Now that I'm a little older, no muffs is a little too loud, but hey I've got to hold my own agains't all these trucks with exhaust up here.
Its not a truck unless its got aftermarket pipes somewhere underneath it.
I think I might have to get baffled tips...
