Boost gauge Questions

Boost gauge Questions

i have had my truck 2 weeks and have not really paid attention to the boost pressure gauge. So today i wot and no gauge movement but truck runs great. Stop in on route 66 speed shop in flagstaff and the guy said it was a sensor he said check that first . Where is the sensor or is he full of it?

He is full of it. Its all mechanical. Sounds like the line may be disconnected somewhere or possibly the gauge broke which i doubt.

Hook up an aftermarket boost gauge as a test. The boost line that goes to your dash is located under the dash, just above your gas pedal foot. Its a black line with a white plastic butt connector into a rubber elbow. It just pulls apart. (For permanent install, get a tee the same size as the butt connector, and a second rubber elbow, and run the new line to the new gauge.)

Hook the gauge into the line, and try it out. If you get boost, the dash gauge is somehow broken. If it doesn't work either, the line is broken/pinched/disconnected somewhere.
