Bent 22 inch rim! Damn vendor!
Bent 22 inch rim! Damn vendor!
Alright, where to start? Parents decide to get me 22's for X-Mas. I looked around, and I think around new years I found a good price from some guy off of eBay. It wasn't an auction, but he had some KMC stealhs or something for sale and I wanted some Venom's at the same price. He says OK, he can do it.
I try using an escrow service as it was a pretty big order and he was in California. Won't take escrow, did not have pictures of the actual rims, etc. etc... would only take a credit card payment through email. The guy calls me, makes me feel good about it, etc. etc. Well, I do it, and the next day he calls to say that they had sold out of them that day, and all he had was blems and not "display models". Fine, I guess I'll wait for the display models. About a week goes by and he gets some. Tells me one day that they are "on their way".
Next day I get an email. He says he took a "second look" and they werent that clean. I guess he grabbed a UPS driver, pulled him out of his truck, tied him up, went through the truck, found the rims, checked em out, and decided they weren't good enough and took em off the truck.
Another week, finds some, on their way. No tracking numbers, claims UPS should have emailed tracking numbers. Nope, none. Ask for an answer. Few days pass and he says they were just sent out (even though it's like the 3rd time they have been in transit to me) and they'll be there tuesday. They show up, wahoo, they're good, they're rims, I'm happy.
OK, got tires (nitto 404's!) about two weeks later and finally today got it to a shop to get em on. Today, all day, nothing but "Oh, my rims are coming! RIMS TOMORROW! WAHOO!", as I've been talking moronically about them since X-Mas. And dreaming of them since X-Mas. The Rims, finally!
Tonite: rim shop had a problem. A rim is MOTHER ****ING BENT! WHAT THE ****?!?! I had already had more than enough from this shop to just get a set of damn rims and now this!
I emailed the guy, I'm calling him tomorrow. Depending on how that turns out I'll try canceling the CC payment. Which, by the way, they accidently charged twice, but have apparently fixed it.
Oh yeah, don't ever buy a thing from Phat Boy Kustoms in California. Never!

Sorry for your problems. It just shows that you have to be extra careful and do as much research about somebody before you do a deal through the internet. Hopefully things will work out for you.
