Roush owners, lowering one more in in rear question

I bought the Beltech shackles to lower the rear one more inch. Now I am having second thoughts. How will it effect the ride and handling? I looked at the stock (cut off by 1/3rd) bumpstops and rear axle tubes and they look like they have never touched but another inch is not going to provide very much room for rear end travel.

Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry,

I have the shackles in the second (1") hole, but I
seem to hit pretty hard on bumps so I am thinking
about going back to the stock shackles.

My $.02 worth ...

I used the stock shackles because it bottoms out easily with the 1" drop bell tech shackles.

I too have the Roush, Belltech shackles and I also added 3/8 leaf spacers on the bottom of the leafs. When I originally installed the shackle on the second hole the truck seemed to bottom out on the shock before it hit the 1.5" rear bump stops. I added some SoCal shock extenders and the ride smoothed out . No more bottoming out on the shocks.

I havn't figured it out yet, I seem to be the only Roush owner with a level ride without changing my shackles.

i have the FRPP shackles set in the middle, my stock rear bumpstops cut in half, my hitch and spare tire are removed so my rear is a bit lighter, also I have a soft cover. my truck still has a slight rake in it, and the rear suspension has plenty of travel, I love the the stance of the truck.

Your truck has a 150 lb. cover and the class 2 hitch. Dunno about the spare.

My truck has a soft cover (15 lbs), no hitch, no spare, and no spare winch. That's about a 250 lb difference between our trucks. That might explain some difference in ride height.
