Thoughts on these rims for racing.
Thoughts on these rims for racing.
I am thinking about selling my 20's and my Bogart racing rims and consolidating to a set of these:
I can then run 16" small tires in the front and Hoosier 28x10x16 in the rear. I will have another set of matching rear rims in 17 or 18" with drag radials or something on them for when I drive on the street. How do you think that would look? I think I can get the tire height right so that they look decent.
I'm just tired of swapping all four tires everytime I decide to go to the track.

Those look pretty good. I don't like the center caps though. That's what I did. It will be easier at the track and a lot lighter on the street.

18's front and rear daily and 16's for rear with slicks.

im looking for the similar setup like you. i want 18s in front but want m/t et streets in back on the steet. ineed 16x 10 for rear what are yours and can you give me a link to them and center caps thanks
Mine are weld prostar XP's. www.weldracing.com
The rears are 16x8 with 4.5" back spacing. I was going to send them to get widened, but I thought I would make sure that they needed it first. I know some people were running some et streets(26x11.5x16) on 16x8's and liked how they performed. If they don't work I'll get them widened.

They fit. Now, I had the shop use the stick on wheel weights for the wheels. The weights do come extremely close to the caliper on the 16" rear wheels, but they do not touch in the rear. I have not tried them on the front. I imagine they would fit, but maybe they don't...I had to order mine and it took several weeks.

not to beat a dead horse but are you saying you had to grind down the wheel weights to clear the caliper? the fronts are no problem so im told . i am only asking becase i want to buy the same set up. all wheel manufacters and inner diameter shapes are different .i called weld wheels 1866 753 4297 were they make them and they did not know if there would be a problem in the rear. all they could tell me was this rim was not desined for our application. maybe other guys had no problem with a differnt brand ?maybe american rims are different even though they are both 16in . thanks
