Do I understand this correctly? The estimated 1/4ET for the SRT-10 is 13.8 seconds? Thats it? You gotta be kidding me!!!

Next gen L is 550HP. It uses the AC to cool the intake charge for an instant 50 HP shot.

So how can we adapt that to ours?

SRT10 weighing in at 5000 lbs I've already got a 400 lb weight advantage, not to mention a full second in the quarter mile

Don't forget that the phantom SRT-10 is rumoured to be quite a heavy pig, I've heard as much as 1000 lbs heavier than the Lightning. That will hurt its ET. That said, I haven't found an estimated ET for the SRT-10 (except rumours on message boards )

As for the 2003 ram with the Hemi: forget it. The Hemi is nicer than Dodge's 360, feels strong, and has a nice sound. But I test drove one and it's nowhere even close to my Lightning.

WHAT?????

How long will it be before FORD LIGHTING will take over as the leader again over the Dodge Ram SRT-10.
When did the Lightning ever loose the lead

The SRT10 is the mayor of rumorville! Alot of hype for nothing, the majoity of us said it would never hit production with the numbers it was said to have.............i think we'll be correct. I don't know what the weight difference is between the Dakota and the Ram, but they have a better chance of challanging the lightning with the Dakota in my opinion. It would be like ford putting the Lightning on a SuperDuty platform. Heavy.

It's going to happen. If you don't think it will, you will only be fooling yourself. It's great to have competition. It will only push Ford to do that much better.

and ok.............

first articles were saying 1/4 mile times in the 12's, now they are saying high 13's. We said it wouldn't run 12's stock, and now apparently dodges is backing us up.

I have no problem with competition. I hope, and think it did, light a fire under ford's *** to put their all into these trucks and not cut corners. These trucks were marketed with it's performance pushed to it's limits, they didn't leave much left in them.

Looking forward to seeing the Gen 3's

It's a shame I probably won't be seeing any around here

If I do I'll be sure to give it a good view of my taillights

I doubt I will be seeing a gen 3 in my driveway. Now that the race is on between Ford and Dodge the price of the next Lightning will be too far out of my range to make a reality I am afraid. I guess we will have to wait and see what the gen 3 costs.

There won't be any L's next year, no '04's!
