I installed a 1999 Lightning bumper cover on my 2002 SuperCrew. The fog lights just pop in the holes. My lights are clear and have a clear casing surrounding the bulb. How can I tell what year fog lights I have and what does the so called brackets cost and look like?

The 99-00 lightnings use the same fog setup that the 87-93 mustang gt's use. When i broke my fogs i used mustang replacements.

 

The 99 and 00 foglights are differant than the 01 through 03 fogs. You can find a pair from the fox body Mustang GT's for about $60 (I think. Could be more, could be less).

if u have clear lights, u could possibly have 01-03 fogs, and if u have a 99-00 cover it will not work..

the 99-00 fogs mounted with a single bolt at the bottom of the fog that attached to the metal bracket.

the 01+ fogs attach right to the plastic cover with three clips that pop into the cover itself..

I took some pictures of what I have. I have some front and back pictures. I will post a link to my pictures. I hope I did it right. I hope this helps y'all out. Would I be able to install the 01-03 fog lights? Also notice that the clear casing surrounding the bulb is yellow b/c I installed 9005 Sylvania Silverstars which are 50W instead of factory 42W. If I am able to install the newer lights will the Sylvania bulbs damage the lights?

the bumper cover u have is a 2001+ and u can use 2001+ fogs, but in thoes pics, it looks like u already have the clear 2001+ fog lights..but none the less, yes, u can use the 01-03 fogs..

Thanks. The guy that sold me the cover told me that it was a 99 cover. That is why I was getting confused. Do you think the Sylvania bulbs will damage the newer style bulbs? What is the difference between the 01, 02 and 03 model lights?

from what i hear the wind hurts these fog lenses, but honestly i have no experiance with the fog lenses, i swapped to piaas about 1 month of ownership..

it might be off a 99, after the 01's started production even if u wanted a older style cover, like on the 99 and 00 u could not get one they were all the newer style, like yours..

also good news, u dont need brackets, just the fogs and they will snap right in..
