Question Need help tapping autometer guages

Hey guys..I ran a search but didnt find any solid info. I bought some Autometer Guages from my boy Josh at Motor City Mods and the Lo-Tek triple pillar.

My q is, where do I tap in & how? I have a water temp, boost and A/F. Is there a write up anywhere with pics? Soap mentioned to tap in to the therm. housing for the water guage.

Also, where is the best place to run the wiring? Any in-depth help would be great Thanx guys.

There is a lot of info on this forum. I would search for each gauge install seperately...like boost gauge install, etc. They are all really easy to install. The simplest is the boost, you can tap in under your dash with a tee. You can tap into the headlight switch and into the fuse box for power. I would use one hook up for your power, ground, and headlight and fuse it. You can then splice into those wires for all your gauges.

Black wire is the signal wire on the O2 sensor that you tap into. Water temp you have under control and boost you get under your dash (black vacuum line right by steering column)

After install pic

Worth the wait. This is Autometer A-Pillar.

I did find a great 02 install location. I'll look tonight.

Sweet, pics would be great. I have the boost ready. Didnt tee it off. Just 86ing the stock guage entirely. The 02 was spliced into off of the driver side exhaust. My problem is the temp. We dont want to chance cracking into the Therm. housing. Where is an easier place? Anyone have pics of their setups?

here you go

this is who I installed my temp sensor. I didn't want to tap the intake....and the thermostat housing is no good. Neal gave me this idea and this is what i did. Sorry for the blury pic, i just ran out there and took it in pitch dark. Right now i have it wrapping in electrical tape to neaten it up, but i'm going to put a piece of large wire loom around it, put some liquid electrical tape over the top of the sender, and change the white wire ties to black, only had white at the time.

I took the time to make this drawing for you, i wish someone did this for me, but i figured it out on my own.

If you need any help with the wiring, let me know.

TALLIMECA,

that is the setup i was gonna go with this weekend, for the sender hookup that is, when all the fittings are tight and where they will be, is the sender actually in the flow of coolant or does it stick up into the fitting at all, im asking because if it sticks up the fitting some, would it give an accurate temp or would coolant get stuck in that void??

accuracy

i think it is very accurate. The sender sits right down int the flow. I would say accuracy is +/- 5 degrees. I have the 160 stat , and the temp usually floats around 150-160, depending on city or highway driving.

hmmm

if you are talking about where i think you are.....it's because i coudn't get in there without taking a bunch of stuff apart. Ifigured it's alot easier and cheaper if I screwed the hose up.....plus Don said he had extra hoses....hehe. Don't ask
