Cliff, check the converter manufacturers website. Most seem to be very open with their information.

As it was explained to m,e the STR is the amount of torque multiplication that occurs through the converter.

Suavy, The Total Domination converter is not built by PI, it's made here in Cincy, each one is hand built, furnace brazed and has double torrington bearings and a metal backplate on the reactor. It's a 3 plate lockup design adn each one is dyno checked for stall speed and balance. At one time I advised most people to get the PI, but all along I was working on something better, and I think we've got it right, now. It took so long because converters are basically VooDoo, and I made many trips to the witch doktor in developing the Total Domination. We tested it against the Pi and I think it's a better piece.
I only did it because I hated to steer away people who were asking for a full race converter. Honestly I think my Street Converter is a better fit for most people than most of the more expensive one, including the Total Domination. People asked for it, so I built it, but most of you will be happier with the street converter. I don't make more than a few dollars on either one, I just do it to offer a converter matched to the Monster Box.

Thanks,

G

Hi Gregg

Does your 3 plate lock up make any noise.....a rattle or ringing noise like the PI does. If not.....you may have another customer here.
