Hesitation at WOT

Just recently my truck started to 'hesitate' at WOT. I will floor it and it will rev-up then it will act like it is missing or something and wont really accelerate anymore. When I let off the gas, it will run real rough and barley idle for about 30 seconds ... then it corrects itself and everything is fine until i WOT it. The SES light never comes on.

Any ideas? I wanted to see if this is something I could fix before taking it back to the dealer again.

Bye the way ... this is with a chip, 5lb pulley, 90mm MAF. I took the chip out thinking that it might be the cause, but it still happens. I just replaced the plugs with BR7's last week ...

Either that or something is wrong with a plug...I would pull them out and check them again along with the filter.

oh forgot to mention ... i also just changed the fuel filter and oil ... hoping that it was the fuel filter ... no luck.

I'll pull the plugs back out and take a look i guess ... I was thinking maybe a coil pack went bad? But wouldnt that throw a code?

Are you hearing any pinging? While I was at REM weeks back there was a black 00 that had the same problem you discribed. After troubleshooting for a while it turned out to be a bad o2 sensor.

Hope this helps,

Griffin

My guesses:

1. Bad coil(s)
2. Dirty or clogged injectors
3. Low fuel pressure--bad pump, regulator, or restrictions in the lines
4. Fuel inj. or eng. control systems malfunction
