about PSP Fast Air. Does Fast Air have some kind of "box" enclosure to keep out hot engine air?

What about Volant's box, no Volant. I'm guessing yall dont use it because it is inclosed and it leans more toward use on stock trucks right. Am I right. Hey I just looked and K&N has an intake set up with a heat sheild specifically for the Lightning why is this one not used any info please.

Shaker?

Johnny:

How well does your intake match up with a shaker hood?

Ok JL box is looking good, but

does "mesh" box do? Seems it would let at least some of hot engine air in? Does Fast Air have a "box" of any kind?

Cool

One advantage to a very large filter is actual "filtration".

The larger the surface area and volume before the MAF? The slower the air velocity per a given area. This reduced velocity lets the oil on a filter do it's job better.

(not a fact I have proof of. Just my educated thoughts and understanding)

WOT

(did'nt mean to say k&n)

I love my JLP! It's only been on since Sunday but the difference is great. Luckily traffic was way down on Monday (St Patty's day) so I could do a little testing for sound, engine response (at low & high speeds & rpms).

You don't want to "seal" these boxes if you have a high volume fresh air intake system. Otherwise you can 'force' air past the MAF and screw up you A/F ratio's.

The PSP design, by far, seems to provide the most fresh air when the truck is in motion, the side shields decrease the chance of 'engine air' being pulled in, even at idle.

Thanks big Daddy, I think I understand

what you meant. Does PSP & Jl use 12" powerstack? Do they clean & reoil with K &N kit or require something specifically for them? You patience is appreciated. Now my walker and I will shuffle down to IHop for early bird senior special!
