Anyone Install Their Own Tranny Temp Gauge?

I'm wondering how difficult it is? Maybe a quick description? If not, where does it get integrated to get tranny fluid temp?

Thanks.

Tranny temp

Hey Keith, I just put one in my truck. The sending unit replaces a plug on the drivers side of your tranny. Use teflon tape for a good seal, and then just run your wire to your gauge. Autometer's Tranny temp gauge comes with a sending unit that is exactly the same size thread as the plug that comes out, easy install, John H.

ditto, plug is on drivers side of the tranny just above the wire connector that is there, if u take it out and tranny fluid flows out thats the one..this wire goes to guage connector fo the sendor, there is a light wire and a ground for the lighted part of the guage and a switched 12+ and a ground for the guage it self....

I am looking to do a tranny gauge myself. How much was the gauge from auto meter? And does it come with everything, even enough slack to get to the tranny? I didnt know it came with the sending unit. Thanks, Shane

the only other things needed is a guage pod and wire. the sender is not hard wired to the guage like a mechanical water temp guage is, just run a 16-18 guage wire from the sender to the back of the guage and your all set...

thanks Jim. that will pry be my next gauge. I gota find one more. The dash pod i am getting is a dual pod, so i've already got air fuel and boost on the pillar on the side, then ill have trans temp and somethen' else on the dash. anything else you can think of?

There is no such thing as a dual dash pod for the F150. You are confused with the F250/350 version.

ditto, only custom pod for the f150s are the ones that mount to the top of the steering colume...i have seen the ones that will go on either side of the guage face but never for the f150's, but if YOU are making something then thats another story...
