Well Thats It for Me......

I just ran out of smokes. It's really been great guys, but without smokes, I'm afraid I just can't hang here anymore.

I'll always remember everyone and I'll stop by from time to time to see how everyones doing.

You will think life is not worth living without those damn things. It does get better. After 20 years I stopped 9 years ago. Can you believe those things have total controll of your life? That's one of the things that got me through....it pissed me off that a piece of paper and tobaco had me by the a$$.

STOP SMOKING! Believe it or not after 90 days I was over them completely. Don't even try to do this if you have not made up your mind. I stopped smoking lots of times for the wife or for my mother but the one time I REALLY WANTED to stop for myself I threw them away and have never touched another one, went cold turkey. I would not smoke one for $10,000.00 because I wouyld be smoking two packs a day in a week

If you quit smoking, does being in a bar or drinking in general make you want to smoke?

LOL...well, this thread was meant as a joke...but what the hell.

Last month my docter found a "growth" on my lungs due to an annual(once every 10 years) physical. She set me up for a CT scan and told me I was screwed if it had grown into the lympth nodes. So for three GOT D#mned days I quit smoking.

Got the results of the CT scan and found out it was just scare tissue. I fired one up in the truck on the way home to celabrate.

I think I am Hooked For Life. I can be out of food, drinks and butt wipe and won't get out to the store. I run out of smokes and I'll go out at 3 in the morning during a storm....LOL.

Seen ALL of my grandparents die from smoking related diseases, I'll never touch one. Period.

Well, my gf of a year that I met off of yahoo.com is a smoker but there's an upside that a buddy of mine told me years ago. He said "If she's a smoker, she's a "smoker" ". Red was right!

D.T. & S. rocks!

After about 10 years I quit about a year and a half ago. Just kind of figured it was time, and made a bet with a friend. Some how I stuck with it. I MISS smoking, I really enjoy it, I love the smell of second hand smoke. Anyway I'm glad I quit now because in Massachusetts butts are over $6 a pack. That really cuts into mod money. The only place that not smoking really bothers me is at the track. Nothing goes better with drag racing than butts.

Ok here is my story .. Hope it helps someone.. I was up to 3 packs per day, and if drinking maybe more.. After many years of abusing my body with alcohol and cigarettes, I just knew the cigarettes were going to kill me.. I was always short of breath and climbing up stairs,,, man forget it,, I would have to rest before I made it to the top.... So I had to make a real life decision, either quit smoking or die.. I had made a few attempts before this to quit but failed miserbly... Finally I knew time was up so I made my mind up and I did it.. I was not easy but I did It.. I could even go in a bar and get wasted and still not smoke.. It has been 12 years now, best thing I ever did in my life... Three weeks after quiting I could run up the stairs... As a bonus I have you may as well say, I quit drinking, because after a while I hated the smell of smoke so bad I quit going in bars.. Best thing I ever did in my life... Its the smellest habit in the world. It makes people stink....

PEaCE.....................

Ain't this a Biotch...I start this thread as a joke and now I am feeling guilty about smoking.

SVT KY...whats really bad is when I dig down near the bottom of the kitchen garbage can, hoping the coffee grounds didn't wet them to much....we calls them snipes...

Blown93 you are right. It was the best thing I ever did in my life (stopping smoking). I don't miss it a bit. People that smoke think they don't stink (I did not think I did) but I got news for you....if you smoke you stink!
