Definitely shove JL subs. The voice coil wires burn up quickly if they are over powered. I went thru six JL W0's before I learned that lesson.

I would go with the jl subs. I think they are very good speakers and they are by far the best SOUNDING. You can buy all the boomy speakers you want, they are a dime a dozen, but the jl's sound is very good.

About the W-O subs, they aren't meant to have huge amounts of power pushed down there throats, so that may have been what was bowing all of your subs.

Yea that was the main problem. I shoved a punch 360 a2 on them and one of them blew. The ohm load changed when that one blew and the other two would blow right afterwards within a week. I got memphis subs now and am very happy. You live and learn. The audio shop I bought them at 3 years ago still sales them and they are the same price they were then. So they must be pretty good subs. They would make you feel light headed for a few seconds every once in a while. If i had to get JL again i would definitely get the w3v2. That is a good sub. IMO

I think I have pretty much decided on 2 JL 10w3v2's, which seem to take ~300 rms at optimum according to the chart I posted above

which would go nicely with the Memphis Belle MC600D amp I want to get, which is a 5 channel amp, with 600 watts @ 1 ohm going to the subs. so if I wire the 2 10w3v2's to that 1 channel, they would each get their optimum 300 watts per

now, that is assuming 2 jl 10w3v2's when bridged into 1 channel or whatever, put a 1 ohm load on the amp (crossing fingers)

who knows? I have never been any good at figuring the whole ohm load thing. so for you experts, what load do 2 10w3v2's bridged put on an amp?
