MAC Exhuast??

Do any of yall have a MAC exhaust system on your L's? I was looking online and came across one. Just wanted to hear some feedback about these systems.

btw, I really like my MAC, but I'll admit, there are better ones out there for more money! However, if I got a new Lightning today, a new MAC would be in the mail to me tomorrow.

I just ordered mine yesterday for $280 shipped. I plan on installing it this weekend. They had a sound clip of it on NLOC and I was sold. I just can't justify spending $500 or more just for a catback. I will most likely trade mine in on the next gen L so if it lasts 2 yrs that's good enough for me.

I had a MAC on my old truck and liked it.. plus the tips were very nice. The only problem I saw was that you cannot keep the inside of the pipes shiny - no matter how hard you try, they will rust. I loved the way it sounded for the $280 that I spent. But, I am also happy with my SilverBullet system - very loud

93cobra,

the JDM is a little bit louder, plus it has a deeper tone. i like the way the JDM sounds at wide open throttle as compared to the MAC... it sounds less restricted to me.

Please keep in mind that the MAC is NOT stainless and will rust over time. Depending on where you live you may want to just step up to a stainless steel unit the first time. However, if you're somewhere in CA or FL, then I think the MAC is an excellent, budget-minded choice. I've heard it on my friend's L and it sounds pretty mean.

Not Silver-Bullet or Bassani-mean...but mean.

As someone on this forum suggested a while back, I paint the inside of my MAC tips with black hi-temp paint. Like they say, SS will last longer-longer than the rods, longer than the plug threads, longer than Just For Men hair color.

I got lazy over my last month of ownership of my L, and never cleaned the tips up.............so they started to rust and look like *****.......If you clean 'em up with MOTHER's CHROME CLEANER once a week, you'll be fine.

It sounded AWESOME, and I didn't lose any power that I could tell..............and for the price, it was a hell of a deal..........Since I welded mine on, I had to let it go with the truck...........so whoever buys my truck is going to have one SWEET sounding, otherwise stock truck.
