The internet is fully of people talking ***** about how fast their stock ride or mild ride can do. Then you go to a track and find everybody reading that ***** dissapointed when they are running 1-2 seconds slower.

You don't think it happens here do you?

No doubt it does. But... Overall I think that L owners on these boards are pretty truthfull. Seems that they have an excellent idea of what works and how different mods will affect performance. Many F body boards are completely full of crap.

I guess that is what I was trying to say. If you read enough propaganda you will start to believe it. Then in the real world you will be disappointed. Here SVT-SiniSTER will win hands down assuming a good launch. Time will tell.

but if he was about stock he should run low 13s or so with a good driver. take it to the track and you should whip him with a good launch (assuming he only has exhaust)...

Ls1s are definitely respectable...there's a ws6 here w/ 19 inch silver zr1-style rims and that looks very sharp...
I beg to differ, with a chip, 90mm maf, straights, AND studded tires? I went door hand to door handle with a 99 LS1 with very basic bolt ons on a roll to about 130 (which is the case with any stock/free mod ls1 I've come across, haven't raced any 02LS1s). Infact, I think I even pulled on him about a foot.

In this video, whoever got the jump won.

from my point of view (compilation from that night)

broke7vsroot1.wmv from their car, vid 1

broke7vsroots2.wmv Their car, vid 2 You have to look at the spots on the window for a reference on the pullage of the truck.

I shut down around 120 as indicated on my instrument panel, but with an effective gear ratio of 3.23 given by the oversize tires, thats about 131 mph. Ofcourse, all made up in my video studio

Just for s&g, what an 03 Cobra with similar mods can do to my truck. The only difference is I have cats and he doesn't

Tundra, Nice videos. With stock tires from a stop he would be toasted medium well. Now imagine how badly you would have taken him with bolt ons that take you to mid 12's like SVT-SiniSTER's truck.
