This is just my opinion, and not in any way should it be taken as support for any of the "tuners" or a slam aimed at anyone........with that said, why in the hell would anyone (including me) think any of the tuners owe us information regarding any product they don't actually sell or endorse?

I've said this many times over the years, they are the few who were willing to take the chances while conducting research and development. Take a quick look around the real world where pharmaceutical companies spend years developing little blue pills...........they then sell the pill for $5-6 a piece, all the while knowing the chemicals and manufacturing costs are about a nickel a pill.............your paying them back for the research, not the pill in hand.

Your paying up front to make sure new pills come down the pike every day. If you want the tuners advise and support, earn it by buying their products. Don't whine because they don't want to spend their days answering questions for free.

If one thinks they can run a 6#'er with no chip to help manage the A/F and timing, go for it. If it works, YOU CAN answer everybody's questions. If you blow up your motor, you WILL have answered everybody's question...............

Same with nitrous or any other item related to performance, you simply have to pay to play. No one, not Sal or anyone else can guarantee that if you bolt on a pulley or a nitrous kit you won't run into problems.

We all enjoy this forum and the chance to exchange ideas and information. This is ours to use with no associated cost, unlike the vendors who have to pay to play here. They and they alone should decide what information they share and we should honor that.

Sal, you mean to tell me people expect you to answer a bunch of dumb questions?

Sorry Hankfan, a little joke between Sal and I, has nothing to do with your questions.

How many times do we need to repeat the same answers to the same questions?
Not meant to be a flame but,
A good business man would be happy to answer the same question a hundred times. But you are free to run your business as you wish.

If a hundred people called and asked the same question, that's different, and I'm always happy to help out. When a hundred people on the same forum, that have access and exposure to the same info, and have a search feature available to them, ask the same question, that's different.

"People who know me, including yourself Ray, know that I have NO problem sharing my thoughts on stuff like that, even if it means some DOESN'T buy a part because it's not needed."

ABSOLUTLY,I have delt with you and have always praised your advice.I dont mean to bash you in any way,I was just looking for some answers along with many and could not believe no tuner would reply.Im sure you will give us advice on the issue now that you know about it

"That question has been aswered MANY times."Well not really,What we would like to know is 'WHY", we need a chip.

Sal,I in no way are questioning your ethics or business mannors.I HAVE delt with you and think you are top notch.I will buy from you in the future because of your Honesty compared to some of the competiton.(not just the vendors on this board)

One more thing. This post was for all tuners not just you.YOU were the first to post which shows your integrity.I personally would like to know also for the help in keeping my warranty.I bought a pully from you before and plan on a 6lber shortly

There are only so many hours in a day. Each tuner/businessman has to put aside time to bring these products to us. How many hours/days/weeks does it take them to research what products are needed/wanted? How many hours were spent getting the Works or the Kenne Bell s/cs designed, R&Ded, tested, priced, judging the quantity needed, working the 'kinks' out, etc.? What about Lightning-customized Caltracks, upper & lower 'links, track bars, multi-programmed chips, etc.? They have to create the instructions needed for us to install their goods(and make sure they don't leave out even a 'simple' step).

There are only so many hours in a day. They have to take an order, package, address, charge, and ship all these products in a timely(most of the time) fashion.

There are only so many hours in a day. We expect them to take our calls when we have no idea what time restaints they are under. We expect them to visit and post on several forums daily. Sometimes, they(a few) do, and sometimes they're out testing the product(s) we want.

There only so many hours in a day. They have families too, as most of us do. I doubt there are too many of 'us' who put the hours in our job that the tuners do.

I, as many of you, appreciate the resources we have in our Lightning community. Are 'they' perfect? No, but neither are any of us.

Dan

Sure the one day I'm away from the computer and Hank and Sal are giving out Nitrous Timing, HOW BOUT SOME A/F's FELLOWS

Ok I see this is a touchy subject so I'll TRY and NOT **** people off. "BUT"
Guys like Hank, ICULOKN, Probleminfected, Killa, Bad As, Mike, Don, Tommy, V, Gator, Mecca, Jeff, John, cyntaxx, *****, Captain, AND ALL MY L BROTHERS (I cant name them all, sorry) made it possible for me to TRULY think the Nitrous through and have me feeling YOU CAN run juice on a stock block and be safe. Talk about help from a Tuner or Vendor, MY OWN TUNER sent me to Johnny Lightning because he felt Johnny had the upper hand on Nitrous Tunes and wanted me to have the best SAFEST TUNE I could. Hank and ICULOKN were quick to put their Timing and or A/F #'s out there in my post, BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO HELP.

In the Tuners defense,
We all know if a tuner tells me sure it's ok to run 16 degrees with juice, AND THEN IT GOES BOOM,
We will Roast them here
"BUT" an opinion once in a while from those who know the answer would go a long way. If I blow it, it's my fault, and my fault only.

I've been in Wholesale Retail Plumbing Supply's for over 25 yrs and yes I answer the same question each and every day, and yes more than 1/2 the times they may by it from my competition, but I still answer them day in and day out.
Hey maybe I can start a Plumbing Forum ? HEHEHEHEHEHE

And BTW,
This is in no way pointed towards any one person, group, religion, sex, "or vendor", it's just MY opinon on the overall picture.
I've talked Sal's ear off plenty of times, and he's always helped.
Poor Johnny must be sick of me by now, you have no idea how many emails and phone calls took place for this tune. I've picked Mark's brain, Paul, Jason or Jim, Etc....
BUT ONCE IN A WHILE IT WOULD BE NICE TO GET TECHNICAL HELP FROM THOSE """WHO CAN HELP"""right here in a Post

And now that we all feel like this I'll say good by, and have a great Lightning day to all my Lightning Brothers and Sisters.

Gee, does this mean we are going back to helping, instead of bashing?

I hope so.

I did not notice any bashing going on in this thread or the thread asking if the stock computer would adjust for a 6lb pulley. Asking a simple question is NOT bashing.

Sal has responded with his feelings on answering some of the questions asked on the forum and that is that, for me anyway.
