Torgue converter pros please help

I ordered a 2400 stall converter from edge racing converters, recieved it and took it to a tranny shop to have it installed. When they pulled mine out it had 6 lugs that attached to the flywheel and the converter had 4. I called Edge and they said they all had 4 lugs. I called a local Hughes converter co. and they said they were all 6 lug. I am sending the edge converter back and getting Hughes to send one of the 6 lugs over.
To the guys who have changed their own converters, what did you have a 4 or 6 lug.
Only I have these rediculous probs.
Thanks
Chris

a friend of mine has a trans am & put a 4400 rpm stall it it & got some serious gains at the track... would a higher stall help our trucks? his is still okay for driving on the street.. you just have to rev a little higher.. lol

Cool

HI!... I wonder if they sent you a stall converter for a 4R70-W. I installed a 2400 stall converter in my 4R70-W and it has only 4 studs.

All 5.4 EXCEPT the Lightning have 4 lug converters, the Lightning and all V-10s and diesels after I think 97 have 6 lugs.

The V-10 and the Lightning have the same converter from the factory if you go junkyard shopping.
