Steeda Pedals....

I just recieved my new Steeda pedal covers in the mail today. I was wondering if anyone has these installed on their truck? I can tell I already need to get new stainless screws so they match the pedals better than the screws they sent me. Anyone have any pics of them installed? Any issues I should know about before trying them out?

Hi!

I installed a set of Steeda pedal covers on my '98 F-150 a couple of years ago. Yes, you'll need to purchase some new hardware. The supplied self-tapping screws are pretty ugly. I went with an allen-head (flat) stainless steel screw and secured them on the reverse side with nylocks.

You will need a good punch to start the holes you will need to
drill through your pedals. The metal ford uses is really stout!

Also, if your kit is like mine, the parking brake cover is oddly sized.

I came up with an interesting solution for mounting it as well.

I've had trouble posting pics to this site, if interested, e-mail me at:

randtwormer@att.net and I'll send you a couple of jpegs.

Regards,

Hollander

I put a set on my 03 a few weeks ago. I used the hardware it came with and you're right I will probably buy better matching bolts. Other than that they look great.

So they just screw directly into the pedals then? Will the nuts they send along actually have enough room to screw on the bolts from behind the pedals?

Kingpin: Your truck is looking bad man, how is that sonic blue as far as swirl marks go?

Konig,

The two brake pedals use bolts with nuts and the gas pedal uses tapping screws. They work just fine, a little unsightly but still do the job.

Thanks for the kind words on the truck. The metallic paint does a good job of hiding most of the flaws. Still need to get a couple more coats of Zaino on. I'll have new pictures next week when my new Boyd C wheels come in.

Good luck on the install!!

Yes, remove the rubber brake pedal pads as the new covers will just go over the bare metal. The gas pedal is a plastic one piece. The new cover goes over the top of it.

ok, thanks...I have the gas pedal on now and it looks alright. Just waiting for it to stop drizzling rain so I can finish it up. Not a bad set for 60 bux shipped...plus they got here in one day since they are a florida based ocmpany
