Question another question about the fog light mod

i searched and searched, but haven't found the exact info i'm looking for..

i want the fog lights to be able to come on by pulling the switch out on the parking lights & stay on with the high beams.

i do not run the "autolamp" feature at all.

it seems like i need to cut another ramp at the parking lamp location of the dial & splice #2 & #12 wires together..

is this all i need to do?

i don't want the fog lights to stay on all the time, just when i pull the switch out at the parking light location, and if i need them with the high beams.

thank you!

brooks

already broke the stupid tab that holds the **** on.. i'll just glue the dang thing back on.. wont be able to open it again.
why does this always happen to me?

I'm going to attempt this mod this weekend as well, and from what I've read, to make them come on only when the switch is pulled out with the fogs, you need to cut the 2nd ramp in the plastic....the wire splicing is if you want them to turn on without cutting the ramp? If Im wrong, somebody please explain what the wire splicing is for.....thanks.

how-to text

best of luck

the directions i found say that the fog's come on all the time, and another set say that they come on when you pull out the switch.

i need a definitive answer to this before i start the mod.

Talking Here's the link that you"ll need

http://www.svtlightnings.com/svt/how...s/foglamps.htm

Try this link above. The foglights will come only when you pull the switch out so if you do not wish to use them you do not have a problem. If you notice you can't pull the switch out when the park light is on this will change that. Just read the article and see. Hope this helps.

cypri: i've read and reread that several times.. the thing that throws me off is that its for making the foglights work with the daytime running lamps.

"Your foglamps should now activate with your headlamps in autolamp mode. Reassemble everything, turn the headlamp switch to autolamp, pull out on the headlamp switch, and turn the ignition to 'on'. You can now fool the autolamp sensor (underneath the plastic 'grille' in the middle of the dashboard) to activate by covering it and deactivate it by shining a flashlight into it."

First mod i did ... It works perfectly if you follow the instructions.

Not sure why the 2-12 splice, but I think that's about the autolamps ... The only location I didn't ramp was the off.

Good luck ...

SVT_KY: all you did was ramp the "park" location & the foglights come on?

now what do i connect to keep the foglights on when i turn the high beams on?

reason: i drive out in the country to go see my girlfriend, and there are a lot of critters running about.. i need the extra light to see them..

allright! that did it!

cut one "ramp" at the "park" position & spliced #2 (white/black) and #12 (brown) wire.

fog lights come on when you pull **** out.. and stay on with high beams!

and i didn't superglue my fingers together but twice.. ow.

used the superglue to put face back on switch & glue on ****. (broke it while trying to take it off)
