Spark plug gap?

Hey guys, I am going to be installing a 5lb pulley and chip soon and with all the plug spitting that has been going on I am thinking about checking mine but I thought that I might just go ahead and change them while I was at it.
I am thinking of going with the ngk7's to be a little safer. Is this a good choice with the 5 lber.
Also what is the best gap and is it ok to install these even though my engine is still stock.
Can somebody also please tell me the exact number for the ngk 7's.
Thanks

.040 seems to work for most of us.

i got mine at .042 but im stock, when i get the pully i'll be at .040......040 is probably best unless your running 6lbs or more, then your in the .036-.038 range.
