What size torque bit is it that the bottom of the tailgate requires? The two torque nuts at the bottom, that bolt the tailgate to the truck, no the two that bolt the rubber covered braided wire, I have the right size bits for those. Thanx!

 

hmm... i dunno.. i just unclip the wires & pull the tailgate off at the track.

You do not need to remove any bolts to remove the tailgate. The cables will unclip from the truck and the tailgate lifts off (be careful).

Pull the little silver tabs out a tad, slide the rings off
the upper latch point, tilt the gate to about 45 degrees
and pull the right side off ... Simple once you do it, but
hard to figure out.

 

It is very easy to remove, no tools required.

This is why it has a keylock in the handle.

 

 

Done...like butter baby! Thanx guys...you saved me alot of time...& anger...which is what I would have been bubbling over with after I went & bought a torx bit to remove a tailgate that I can just unclip..
