Question Simple Tuner Question

When at WOT, are the fuel and timing curves read from a table or are the MAF and other sensors used?

Thanks!
Sammy

What I am trying to figure out is after installing my pulley will my A/F ratio will get leaner at WOT if it switches from sensors to a set table.

I would strongly recommend you call who ever you had tune your chip originally.

If that engine goes lean on you at WOT you will be posting about Fords "crappy warranty".

during cruise/tip-in, the computer uses various sensors such as MAF, 02 sensors, etc. to adjust timing and a/f ratio. At WOT, the computer uses a set fuel and timing table. I THINK

Sammy,

Mass air meter sends a signal back to the computer, it reads voltage from around .7 to 5 volts.
The voltage lower numbers is low load and the higher numbers are high load.
The less load the more timing you get.
The higher the load the less timing you get.
Fuel works off of open loop.
You can go into open loop a couple of different ways .
If you go right to the floor with it , it works off of a timer.
The other way it is based off of load, result off of mass air voltage.
Most of the calculating is done in the mass air transfer table.

Hope I have answered your question.

So if the chip is set at 11.8 at WOT does this mean. It is at 11.8 any time you WOT. Or does it have a set amount of fuel it puts in and doesnt add more fuel when you ad more boost to lean it up.

That's what I am wondering...

At WOT, does the computer monitor the O2 sensors and adjust the fuel to maintain a set A/F or does it just spray in a set amount of fuel?

Thanks Jim for sharing your knowledge, maybe you can ellaborate a little more for those interested...
