The KB blower for the Lightning was casted specifically for the Lightning. The Cobra kit is using the generation of blowers designed for the 4.6 DOHC. Either way you look at it, everyone's gonna be seeing the back of your car and not under the hood. That is one bad bolt on! KB is really on the ball...I'm glad they are putting the time in to develop such an awesome product. Now only if I had a Cobra to bolt it on.

Maybe you should educate yourself before you make another negative post about KB's, but thats not your style now is is? You slam KB's any chance you get

Cool your jets Grey03, **** is right. The very first pic in this thread clearly shows an aluminum adapter plate under an old-style Autorotor blower. I didn't read ****'s post as an attack, he is just stating an interesting fact.

I personaly dont think theres anything wrong with an adapter plate if it's made correctly so I won't sit here and say it hurts the KB cobra kit.

But it is a really cheap shot * and VERY hypocritical * for KB to say it is low class and potentially a problem... considering that is how MANY kb kits come!! And I have never read of a problem relating to a works or kb adapter plate.

Either way?? Meaning, if it IS a bad thing, it doesn't matter because we won't see it??

That sounds an awful lot like an excuse. You don't seem to say the same things about works product. But then again you dont run PSP or REMs website, you are hooked in with JL

You know, youre a total bonehead. Not only for your lack of knowledge of various concepts discussed throughout this forum, but for the simple fact, you have yet to come clean as WHO you are. Come out of the closet.

And i didnt slam KB. I brought up a very important detail in their marketing material slamming a competitor and they are doing the very same thing. Make up your mind KB or change your literature.

You're right...the theme carries on all through life. I like Ford, you like Chevy. I like a house in the country, I'm a city slicker.... That's what makes the world go around. You don't need to bust on another product to make the one you like look better. I never busted on the Works, I just said I like my KB.

Your '96 wasn't making damn near 400 hp from the factory either. I'd say 600 hp is just the beginning of what can be done with the '03 Cobra engine, considering the strength built into it from the factory.
I'll agree that the '03 has stronger internals than previous models had from the factory, but I didn't leave that part out of my equation either.
We put the usual .03 over forged pistons, Manley rods, ported heads etc.

What I'm refering to though is that it takes a whole lot more to support that kind of power than just bolting on a blower.

The two engines are (basically) the same aside from the heads, pistons and rods.

Make no mistake, the '03 can still go "bang" without the right secondary mods just like a 96-01 can.

And just FYI, it only takes an S-trim to make a 96 produce 400 at the wheels.

So another words.........they are not basically the same.

True any motor can go bang but look at what these dudes are doing with the KB, please don't tell me a 96-01 could handle that kinda power...........
Cool thread 1
Cool thread 2
Cool thread 3
