Question Pulley Installation Question

Quick question guys. I am getting ready to install my JDM 4# interchangable pulley this weekend. (can't wait!)

While reading some really old threads concerning pulley removal, I saw where some people had extreme difficulty removing pulleys when wanting to go back stock.

My question is should I put some anti-seize or something on the spindle so it will be easier to remove later? or has this issue been resolved with newer style pulleys?

Thanks!
Sammy

The only thing that I have heard about difficulty removing is that some JDM caged pulley owners were having problem with the thread with removal. Not too sure about the details. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

When my 00 blew up,The dealer had to remove the lower pully to get the motor out of my truck. He broke his 1/2 drive breaker bar,It hit him in the head and he had to go to the hospital for stitches.Kinda funny...................Ye they are on tight and anti siez shoudnt hurt cause they tighten as you drive.

antiseize!!!

use antiseize!!! I just removed my JDM this weekend and it came off 10000000000000x easier than the stock pulley came off. The new hub design has eliminated the problems the old pulleys had. The best way to get it off is if it is on a lift and the engine is locked, put the socket on a breaker bar and put a pipe extension on the breaker bar and slowley apply pressure and it will come loose.

Chilton's manual actually says to coat the threats with antiseize.

Just remember it the stock pulley has the direction of installation on it..if you get underneath some get disoriented and tighten it....
