Question Quick spark plug question

Sorry to keep buging you guys.

I did the searches and other homework a while back and all the posts about launched plugs had me nervous. Thought I would do a quick check of mine while it was cold.

Started with #1 since it was easiest to get to. It is a

Motorcraft Platinum AGSF12E

I just got this truck and it has about 23K miles on it now. That plug looks GREAT!

It was in there tight also. It is stock with a chip and runs good enough for me. No sence rushing the Honeymoon. Will wait untill a later date before doing serious mods.

So the Question is- Are these the origanal plugs & heat range that probably came in the truck and would you advice me to check the rest? Is there a particular plug that comes loose that I should check?
Thx
Greg

My 2001 OEM plug say's: AGSF12FM1???

They worked fine and got me into the high 12s with a 3 lb pulley and slicks. I changed over to a colder NGK BR7EF when I went to a 5 lber.

From: Colorado,
Thanks for the quick response Dan!

Gives me something to look forward to.

I got it back in and for now I think I will camp along the banks of the Nile river (DENILE).

Everything else looks good and I have done a few things in the last two days so I want to make sure it still runs!!!!

Replaced leaky intercooler heat exchanger.
Fuel filter.

It is supposed to snow the next couple days and the streets are dry right now.

Do Cops work on MONDAYS? I need to stretch my legs

I always though platinum plugs were a no-no on forced induction vehicles? (due to their heat dissipation properties)...

Yes I would check the rest. When I did my first plug change I had 2 that were loose and all the rest were snug. Better safe then sorry. Goodluck with the new/used truck! -Mat-

Thanks Matt, will wait until another day. She's warm now!

Nice little stretch Very nice!

First time I have had the use of the intercooler. No big difference that I can feel in the seat of the pants but definitly peace of mind with summer comming. (Heat!)

Even found Premium Gas at my favorite station for $1.84 thats down .15 from last week

I could use more mondays like this!

You are correct. That is 'why' I went to a colder, copper plug when I added boost with my 5 lber.

Way I had it explained to me by the good guys at REM and also the SVT tech at Maroone Ford down by them, the platinums work fine, but they are much more sensitive to lean conditions and detonation. Plus they make a nice hotspot for preignition when you run higher boost. I like the NGK -8s so far...

Check ALL your damn plugs. I did mine this weekend a found that five were in finger tight. Two one the passenger side and three on the drivers side. I was so pissed when I was spinning them out with my fingers. Damn Ford!!!!!! Give me head!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Colorado,
Ok, will check them all now that I know that everything else is ok.

Anyone know the differense in thes numbers

AGSF12FMI
AGSF12E

Maybe it is that mine is a 99 and Dan's is a 01.
I would guess yours is a tad colder since you have more HP and the bigger TB???
