With an aftermarket airbox that mounts solid, the factory boots allows the motor to flex over, with the solid REM piece, I wonder what would give first?

While it does look very sharp, Iam still concerned about removing the flex that the factory rubber boot allows.

LightningToGo,
Looks great buddy
Soap,
I have the same concerns as FastGator, doesn't it need to flex some? I know you said you haven't had any problems, and I believe you, but it seems like there has to be some "give" somewhere. Do you think the "give" would be at the end of the filter/airbox at the fender? If so, there would probably never be any problems arise from that?
I know this, your engine compartment is awesome!

Originally I also thought the same thing as you and Gator. However after I installed everything I did have someone rev the motor at idle to see the movement. Now I know the motor moves more when actually under load (like launching at the track), but I probably made 2 dozen passes with that setup and never had 1 problem. And I always had my nose in the engine compartment

When did you have time to wash your truck all the time
Spent some time on the phone today with Paul@ REM. Very nice fella and he took the time to answer alot of question that I had
After I told him I wanted the Power pipe and had a credit card ready to order...........
He told me He DOESN'T reccomend installing his power pipe on an mounted airbox, as the motor needs to flex. He also told me he has many customers who run the power pipe with a solid mounted airbox and report NO PROBLEMS. So its really up to each owner to decide if he/she wants to take the chance.
Anybody guess what Iam going to do
