Ford modular engines in NASCAR???, good for Lightning owners?

I found an interesting article about Robert Yates wanting fuel injection in NASCAR and mentions using a 4.6L DOHC engine. If this is a Ford 4.6l DOHC, could this be good for Lightning owners and Ford performance enthusiasts in general?

"What Yates has been working on would be radical departure from those carburetor motors: A four-valve, double-overhead cam 4.6 liter."

As a long time Nascar fan, I'd be surprised if they go that way anytime soon. Dodge just completed a motor program, and Toyota is starting one now. I think it is probably much easier to legislate the engines as they exist today.

Does the 4V head have the same number of threads as the 2V?

4.6 doesnt launch the plugs, esp the DOHC Romeo motors.

This would be very good for us since FRPP would make these parts avail to us in due time.

Out of 10 replies to this thread only one person actually talked about the impact of this on mod motor enthusiast. I think I understand what Spike E is talking about.

Can anyone suggest a forum where people actually discuss our trucks and related subjects without all the idiotic noise?

Well since you dont want any "idotic noise" and I assume I was one of the ones you were referring to..You could probably click on this site.

www.iscmotorsports.com

maybe find a way to contact Bill France and ask him? He would probably be able to give you the most insight on your topic!!!

then post something that goes with the subject dont start a flame war.

Im glad to see Toyota get into NASCAR racing. It will be interesting to see how they do.

If they do use the 4.6 i think it would bring needed improvements through the racing research done on it.
