Headers on a Stock Exhaust System

I had a good idea in terms of exhaust.

Headers give a good sound, as well as hp gains. Catbacks (on a L) give relatively good sound but nominal hp gains.

My question to you guys is :

Does Kooks Headers w/ stock exhaust make sense? Do they fit to the stock cat back? How do you think it will sound? Are there any issues with this set up? Has anyone ever done this before?

Thanks in advance from north of the 49th parallel!

When I sold my Bassani I was running just stock catback exhaust with long tubes/high flow cats. It sounded great. There will be no issues with fit at all.

Kooks are long tube headers. Won't they be too long for the stock pipes?? I think it would be. I know that the Bassanis are shorty headers.

You remove everything up to the catback (manifolds/catpipes). Then install Kooks, high flows, and midpipes. It will fit right up to the catback

Cool

HI!.... I've run both the JBA shorty's and now the S/S JDM/KOOKS long tube headers and I never noticed my exhaust tone getting louder with either of them. I did notice a exhaust tone difference when going from the stock mufflers to the dual FLOWMASTERS (junk!) and then to the dual MAGNAFLOWS with a "X" pipe.

Hey, what give with my computer. This is my third attempt at posting.

Hey Frozen one,

Houston NLOC did back to back to back exhaust tests and found that replacing the 4 stock cats with 2 hi flows give the best bang for the buck on HP. The Headers sound nice (which is why I've got them) but the power is lost in the cats not the factory headers.

Stay unfrozen dude.

I can confirm that headers are NOT that big of a hp/tq jump.
Just the sound makes it worth it for me
