Ponyexpress,No flame but wake up from La La land
In the used car world, ther a thing called " ACV" Actual Cash Value. This does not change very much from dealer to dealer,You would think it does and thats exactly what they want you to think.

Holy crap, Batman.......I have to agree with Ray on this one, "actual cash value" drives the real world of used vehicles.
Our vehicle's value is driven not by what you will hold out for, but what others are actually willing to pay. Each year that passes lowers the amount others will pay both through the increased number of units to pick from, and the fact fewer people want them.
This is a "nick market" with only so many buyers to reach. They don't produe in low numbers to make them collectible, they make them in low numbers due to the fact there is a very narrow market to sell to.

You guys have opinions and we are all welcome to them. I just have the opinion that we could control the value of these trucks.
Unless you have a monopoly, you won't control the value simply by holding out for a higher price. That's because perceived value by the seller isn't as much a consideration in a supply and demand equation than perceived value by the buyer when supply is high and demand is low.
It's like saying if everyone in the world embraced peace, then we would have peace on earth. Yes, we would, but no we won't.
