Our PSP short blocks are $4200.

They include:

Brand new Ford Block
Brand new Ford Crank
CP pistons
Manley H beam rods
Performance Rod and Main bearings
ModMax Plasma Moly rings
ARP Head studs
ARP Main studs
High volume oil pump and pickup
New Ford oil pan, gasket and bolts

The rotating assy is balanced, and the motor is blueprinted. The oil pump is installed on the motor, and the oil pan and oversized oil pump pickup tube are preclearenced, and the oil pan is installed.

Our built motors are not stocked and built per customer order.

Johnny,
If I blow my schitt up at Cecil, I'm flat bedding my Black Beauty to your shop so you can sell me one of those Bad Boys
How much would it cost if you had to take the truck, remove the old block, put in your short block with my original upper motor components, no valve job, but heli-coil each plug.
Parts, Labor, final price
Roughly of course, I know things change
Would that be possible in the 5G range ?

If the short block goes for 3800, how can he do all of that labor for a G? that would be the ultimate hook up!

Rob I think it would be around 7 or 8K...more if you want ported heads...Not to mention what a Works or KB would cost you...Basically LOTS OF MONEY....

I wonder what the $3800 buys vs what we see $4200 buys?

No Flame people.......just window shopping

Sounds like Rob is going to shoot the chit out of the gas, till he blows it

PS to Rob...........Start saving the coins, cuz while your paying the labor, might as well put a set of nice CNC ported heads on that built short block! Right or wrong?

Dam Johnny, I'm moving to PA, with turn around service like that

I'm just thinking ahead for now, but I have a feeling we'll be doing business soon enough.

Gator, your right, I better start saving.
Poor kid don't stand a chance of ever making it to college thanks to all of you

What kind of numbers are the built shortblocks putting up on a chassis dyno?--are there any proven gains or are all of the gains in strength and reliablity?

Considering all the engine removal/reinstallation costs, the new gaskets, broken knuckles, etc. The $400 difference is peanuts. Particularly if one blows up and you have to do it all over again.

The real question is, which one is assembled and blueprinted better. PSP lists all their parts. Get the same info from JL or whomever else you consider.

PSP runs a more powerful engine than JL does on the track, but is that the same short block as what you would be getting? (JL implies his is the same).

Then look at the reputation of the seller. Everyone will have an opinion there I'm sure.

I was dumb enough to buy all the parts and get the machining done seperately, and assemble it myself. I wouldn't recommend that to all but the other 'most ****' Lightning users. I wouldn't sell mine for $5000 never mind the prices these guys are quoting. Both seem a good deal. Get the stongest!!!

I think if you go with any of the tuners built shortblocks, JLP,PSP,JDM,or REM the week link moves from the bottom end to the top end.

Once you go with a built short block, it seems that boost nubers start to really rise. Now all of a sudden valve springs start to be a problem, especially if you go with more aggresive cams.
