Boost Question??
Under normal driving conditions, where does the boost air go???The s/c is always spinning, but the boost guage is reading vacuum, so where is all the extra air going???
It has a bypass valve. The bypass valve is opened when your just driving around town and the air is just spinning round and round keeping the S/C happy. When you get on the gas the bypass valve closes and forces the air down the throat.
Under normal driving conditions the boost bypass is open so alot of the incomming air is going through the bypass into the engine, under full throttle the bypass closes and all the incomming air goes through the blower, and that how you get boost.

I know about the bypass valve, I am just not exactly sure how it works..Wher does the air go from the bypass valve???I never actually looked at the plumbing....Does it recirculate back to the intake or go somewhere else??Just trying to figure it out...But thanks for the replies guys..
I can't believe anyone would have the guts to ask this question on an open forum like this. Wow. You got ba!!s.

when the bypass is open the air does not get compressed by the blower, it goes through the bypass into the intercooler/lower intake then the motor. when the bypass is shut, all the incoming air gets compressed by the rotors and creates boost. i think im right?
