Not to disrespect anyones ideas of trading in there L's but Dammit I love mine and I have the hardest time understanding why in the hell someone would 'WANT' to get rid of it. I guess its just one of those 'things that make you go hmmm'. I don't know, I guess I just need a sandwich. Goodnight.

I agree with Wendy. I wouldn't trade my L for any other new vehicle.

Then don't read it.

I plan on keeping mine for a long time but you never know what the future holds.

Now that it is the future......I am gonna take my Lightning, GN, WE4, Ranger and my Bronco and trade them in on a E-150 base model. Dealer said they would they would give me a straight up trade. That is a good deal right>???

just to stir it up a little....you guys are telling me you wouldn't trade your L in on anything? the requirement is that whatever you get you have to drive (not trade it in for a ferrari then turn around and sell and buy another L)....

i could think about 50 different cars off the top of my head....everything from a mint hemi dart or charger to a 911TT....

If I could afford a hemi dart or a 911TT, I wouldn't have to trade in my L.

not to go off topic, but hemi makes me think of Hummer, and i GF's sister is 16 and just got a Sunfire, and she was telling me one day theres this kid who is rich, and you can tell cause he has a hummer, and in the school parking lot, you see, caviler, sunfire, caviler, Hummer..... it's kinda obvious, and then someone told me that his uncle gave it to him, it's a hand me down, and i saw him one day, cause i was driving by the school, and it's the ugliest thing i have ever seen, it's like the first hummer ever, (what year did they first come out?) it was like 80's or something, i heard those go for like $50,000 used, if i were him and wanted something big like that, i'd trade it in and get either the H2 (only hummer i like) or a Navigator or something.... OFF TOPIC!

Eh...like someone said - "Needs change, tastes change." I LOVED my L while I had it, but I was ready for something more. Living where I do, I grew up hunting and fishing. Before I had my L, I drove a Bronco with a lift and stuff. I wanted to keep that AND have my L, but it was just too much for a college kid to afford and/or deal with. I sold my Bronco about a year ago or so because I didn't really have much time to drive it and was afraid to let it "sit up." It was too nice of a truck to let it go to waste. Anyway, I sent some of that extra money on my L and had it modded pretty heavily. Over time, though, I started to notice more and more problems with my L and had little "gremlins" popping up here and there (not a bash against Ford or Ls - it's just something you expect when you really mod a vehicle). I guess I finally decided that because of that and a possible marriage in the near future, it was time for my L to go. I wound up trading it in on a Toyota Sequoia Limited. I figured that I can get it and have it paid off in a year or so and not have to worry about a car note for the first few years of marriage. And yeah...I love my Sequoia, but I really miss the Lightning at times. That extra "punch" really came in handy. On the upside, though, now I get to go hunting and fishing all the time; I've been more in the past month than in the 2+ years I owned my L.

Anyway, I was always one of those who planned to be buried in my L. Somehow, $12K in mods later (and with the thought of $3K in tires every year and VERY good odds that I'd blow AT LEAST a plug within that same amount of time), I came to my senses and realized that I wasn't at the right stage in my life to have an L. I traded it in and have "made do" pretty well, IMHO.

Long story short...never say never.

DUCK
