Lightning vs. Mustang

I've never posted in this forum (I'm usually in the SuperCrew forum), but I was just curious. What's faster, a stock L or an SVT Cobra? I'm guessing the Cobra. What about an L vs. a regular 4.6 GT? I'm guessing the L. Just wondering.

I used to own a 5.0 GT, and I loved it. I'd buy another in a heartbeat, but I like the Screw for it's utility and performance in the snow/wet weather. So my other question, for you L owners, is why you went with a high performace pickup rather than a high performance car? Again just curious about you L owners out there.

what do the N/A newer style cobras run? I think we can beat stock 99-02 cobras if we have a good chip program. Once they put the blowers on the snakes they are just ridiculas now. A 4.6GT will get its *** handed to it stock vs. stock ...some of those GTs are fast as hell though with a few mods...but stock they arent much.

I bought my truck because:

a) it looks so bad ***.
b) its the fastest full size production truck ever.
c) with a chip/pulley/filter, I can go to the track and run 12's.
d) The price was right

and most importantly:

e) chicks dig it

1) Really REALLY wanted an SVT product.

2) Didn't want to wait for the 03 Cobras and didn't know how much markup there would be. Speculation at the time said it would be huge and lots of people were "on the list."

3) Insurance is cheap, especially for a 19 year old college student (compared to my other options...ie C5)

4) Easily moddable. I trolled and lurked the Lightning forums long before my purchase and knew exactly what I wanted to do.

5) Personality. When you see a Lightning, you think "that owner has taste"...unlike when you see a C5 you think "probably just an old guy going through a mid-life crisis." And somehow Chevy and Dodge lovers also respect it more than they do other models of Ford (ie Mustang)

6) Unique. Head turner. Not just another Mustang....

I'd have to agree with cyntaxx on all those points. I love the attention and respect you get while driving it. Not to mention the sheer orgasmic joy of a WOT run

Thanks. That pic is actually the day I brought it home from the dealership, but I'm pretty paranoid about keeping it clean enough to see my reflection in.

I don't have both but I did have an 01 Lightning...

and now drive an 03 Cobra....

Both are alot of fun. The cobra feels safer when corner carving.

Both nice looking rides. I want a silver cobra to match my '03 Screw. I guess then the Screw would become my winter beater.
